Rates
Please contact us for therapy session rates as individual clinicians have separate rates at Milwaukee Counselor. Also, for individuals using insurance benefits, these rates will vary from our out of pocket rates. We do our best to verify insurance benefits for our clients, though ultimately we recommend that you reach out to your insurance company to understand your benefits and potential costs associated.
At Milwaukee Counselor, We believe that all individuals, couples, and families deserve the highest level of care, regardless of income. As such, we do offer a limited number of sliding fee slots for people to access high-quality care.
Insurance
Some of our clinicians currently participate as in-network providers for the following insurance companies:
- Aetna
- Humana Tricare
- United Health Care/UBH
- UMR
- Exceedent
- Smarthealth
- Molina Marketplace
- Together with CCHP
We recommend asking these questions to your insurance provider to help determine your benefits:
- Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?
- Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?
- Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
- Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?
Out of Network Insurance
For a number of reasons, we are not in-network with some insurance providers. Rather than having someone else dictate your therapy and having to haggle with insurance companies all day, we would rather be able to focus on providing the highest level of care possible to the clients we work with. We do provide you with a statement as requested, to submit to insurance companies for either partial or full reimbursement for therapy if you desire this. You are eligible to use Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) for therapy costs, which seems to work well for many people.
Depending on your current health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, it is possible for services to be covered in full or in part. Please contact your provider to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy services.
Payment
Payment is due at time of service, either in the form of cash, check, or credit card. We can also set up a convenient auto-pay system which will charge you at the conclusion of every session without you having to lift a finger!
Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you may be charged for the full rate of the session.
